Our future strategy
Our main aim for the future is to provide more and better services and support for people affected by stroke.
Over the next five years we plan to increase the size of The Stroke Association in order to deliver more stroke services, research and campaigning. We currently provide 27 per cent of England and Wales with our services, which means that many people in the UK are missing out on the direct local support we can provide.
Our five-year strategy for the organisation has nine clear objectives for the future.
Our objectives
1. We want to increase awareness of stroke and understanding of what a stroke is.
2. We want to increase awareness of The Stroke Association, the work that we do and the services we provide.
3. We want to increase the funding and resources that we receive, as this will mean that we can extend the work we do.
4. We want to increase the resources allocated to stroke prevention and after-care by government and health and social care providers
5. We want to provide more vital help to people affected by stroke through our services, publications and website.
6. We want to ensure that people affected by stroke have an opportunity to contribute to the work of The Stroke Association.
7. We want to further increase the funding of stroke research throughout the UK.
8. We want to improve our internal systems to ensure the best use of our resources.
9. We want to work with other charities and organisations who have an interest in stroke, to ensure that the maximum support is available for stroke people.
There are a whole range of challenges ahead of us in order to achieve these objectives. If you can help us on our journey into the future, please get in touch
