Community Voices

Are you a Community Voice for stroke?
If you represent the interests of stroke survivors or carers in your area and try to influence NHS decisions on stroke then we would like you to sign up to our Community Voices initiative. If you sign up we will offer you the following:
- Quarterly updates on issues around stroke policy which may help you to be a more effective community voice
- Ongoing support in issues around patient/carer representation within the NHS (this does not include training)
- The opportunity to meet with other community voices from around England to share experiences and offer peer support
- Involvement in the production of a guide for all Community Voices
- Participation in a future web based social network for all community voices in England
Alternatively, if you would like to be a community voice for stroke but are not sure how to get involved, then we can support you and provide information about the patient/carer involvement opportunities in your area.
If you would like to learn more about this project please read our page on background information.
The Community Voices report is now available
This report looks at the experiences of people who are or would like to be involved in developing and planning stroke services in their local area. Its results are based on over 160 responses and reveal some interesting facts; like that overall respondents were satisfied with their involvement but that satisfaction didn't translate into respondents feeling as though they had a high impact on services.
You can read more about the survey results or download the entire report here.
Community Voices networking events now booking
The number of community voices is growing daily and the first networking event in which they can engage with each other, share experiences and offer support will be held in London during May.
Unfortunately, registration for the London event is now closed.
If you live outside London and would like to attend the next networking event in your area please pre register here.
If you are interested in becoming a community voice, no matter what your current involvement level then please go to our online form to join up.
If you want more information on the project then please email the Campaigns Team.
