Community Voices tell their stories
The Community Voices project is all about understanding and helping individuals who are trying to influence stroke policy in their local communities.
At the start of the project we consulted a group of community voices to help us better understand the current state of user involvement and to ensure the Community Voice project was as responsive to the needs of community voices as possible.
Some of the members of that consultative group have been kind enough to share their stories which you can find below by clicking on their pictures.
Peter Parker's story
Peter has raised thousands of pounds for The Stroke Association and has worked towards helping for better care for stroke survivors for over ten years.
Alan Moore's story
After Alan had a stroke in 2005 he spent two years recovering and then started working with his local NHS to help solve gaps in treatment.
Andy Jones' story
Having had a stroke in 2003 hasn't kept Andy Jones from working to influence stroke policy and ensure that stroke survivors access the services they need.
Irene Thompson's story
Irene had a stroke over 20 years ago and since then has made herself and her opinions known at many meetings, workshops and conferences on health and stroke.
