Know your Blood Pressure

On 26 April 2008 we will be launching our sixth annual 'Know your Blood Pressure' campaign in partnership with Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland (RIBI).

This is one of our most important campaigns as we not only raise awareness of the links between high blood pressure and stroke but also work alongside rotary clubs to test thousands of members of the public.

Last year's campaign was a great success, with around 450 rotary clubs holding stroke awareness days that included blood pressure testing stations.

Across the UK people went to their local supermarket, shopping centre, community centre or church to get their blood pressure checked. In fact, we estimate that over 50,000 people had their blood pressure checked on the day. Download the evaluation report of last year's event below:

We also organised a Stroke Awareness Day in Parliament where 200 members of staff were tested for high blood pressure.

If you are an organiser of a rotary club please download the Blood pressure campaign registration form 2008 (47 kb) [doc]. Complete this and return it to us and we will then be able to send you all the relevant materials that you will need to run a succesful event. The following materials can also be downloaded:
