Stroke is a Medical Emergency
If you were with someone who was having a stroke would you recognise the symptoms, and would you know what to do?
Because many people are unsure of the answers to these questions The Stroke Association launched the Stroke is a Medical Emergency campaign in 2005. Download the campaign report below:

As part of the campaign we also promoted the FAST test which can help recognise the symptoms of stroke. FAST requires an assessment of three specific symptoms of stroke:
Facial weakness - can the person smile? Has their mouth or eye drooped?
Arm weakness - can the person raise both arms?
Speech problems - can the person speak clearly and understand what you say?
