FACT 1 - Stroke is one of the top three causes of death in the UK, along with cancer and heart disease

FACT 2 - Stroke is the leading cause of severe disability in the UK, with at least 300,000 people living with disabilities as a result of stroke

FACT 3 - Stroke costs the economy £7 billion every year in health and social care costs

These startling facts underline why The Stroke Association is working hard to campaign for improved health and social care for stroke survivors and their families. We want to see a world where there are fewer strokes and all those touched by stroke get the help they need. One of the ways in which we aim to achieve this is through campaigning.

We campaign on issues that affect stroke survivors and their families, so that they are highlighted amongst the public, the media, MPs and all the other people who make key decisions about health and social care.

This section of the website contains information on all of the issues that we are campaigning on, and how you can get involved.
