Life After Stroke Awards 2008 winners

On Wednesday 25 June, The Stroke Association held the Life After Stroke Awards at Claridge's in London to celebrate the achievements of people who have rebuilt their lives following strokes. The ceremony allowed us to formally recognise the triumphs of people of all ages who have shown tremendous courage following a stroke. It also provided the opportunity to acknowledge the work of carers and other people who show commitment and compassion in helping those affected by a stroke's devastating impact.

It was a wonderful day, bringing together celebrities, key stakeholders and members of The Stroke Association to celebrate the remarkable achievements of the award winners.

The ceremony was hosted by Neil Fox and the event was attended by celebrities including, John Bardon, Gail Porter, Honor Blackman, Linda Robson, Richard McCourt and Dominic Wood, Wendy Holden, Greg James, Nick Hewer and Margaret Mountford, Bob Holness and Edwyn Collins.
