Donating shares

Twelve million people own shares in the UK, and these are worth a staggering £200 billion. If a tiny fraction of these were donated to The Stroke Association imagine what a difference it could make.

Giving shares to The Stroke Association is a great way of unlocking capital and supporting our vital work helping people affected by stroke.

When you make a gift of shares to a charity it is free from capital gains tax, and you can claim income tax relief on the value of the donated shares. This tax relief applies regardless of the total value of the shares so it is a most effective way of giving.
