Legacy facts and figures

Last year, The Stroke Association received £5.6 million from gifts left to us in the wills of supporters.

Every single legacy helped us to fund vital research projects, produce and supply much needed information and support thousands of patients, carers and healthcare professionals.

The challenge ahead
As the UK’s population ages, obesity levels escalate and binge drinking becomes an ever bigger problem, the number of people at risk of stroke looks set to rise. This means that even more people will need the information, support and services provided by The Stroke Association. To cope with the increased demand for help, it’s important to look ahead and plan how we’re going to fund the extra work. And that’s where legacies come in.

Pledges help us to plan ahead
For every person who’s kind enough to let us know they wish to leave us a legacy, we're able to plan our future activites with added confidence. Of course, you can update your will at any time and informing us of an intended gift is not legally binding. We appreciate that everyone’s circumstances and priorites can change.

Because remembering a charity in your will doesn’t cost you a penny during your lifetime it won’t affect your standard of living. But it will make an enormous difference to the lives of patients and carers who follow in your footsteps.

Together, we can make a difference.
