Fundraiser of the Month - May 2011

Team Thunderstorm raised an amazing £3,722 together

Please join us in congratulating The Thunderstormers, our May Fundraisers of the Month!

Andrew Mynott, Paul Cubitt and Philip Scott make up The Thunderstormers. They are a team of three friends who have taken part in a number of events in the run up (pun fully intended) to their biggest challenge - The Brighton Marathon.

This fantastic trio have so far raised a whopping £3,722 through a series of events including £140 raised through a Football Prediction League and £1,135 through their Thunderstormers Charity Night, as well as sponsorship from friends and family via their JustGiving page.

The three were inspired to raise money and awareness for the Stroke Association after Andrew suffered a series of two strokes aged 32. Whilst Andrew suffered loss of feeling in his left side and underwent key hole surgery to repair a hole in his heart he has now fully recovered and leads an active lifestyle once again.

The doctor described what had happened as a 'thunderstorm' in Andrew's brain which went on to become the team name for the three.

We would like to take this opportunity to commend Andrew in his dedication to recovery and the whole team for taking on such an amazing challenge and raising such a huge amount in support of the Stroke Association.

The Thunderstormers were nominated by the Events Team South.
