Payroll Giving

Payroll giving is an easy and tax efficient way for you and your colleagues to make regular gifts to charity, and could help The Stroke Association to raise money for our vital work.

Through payroll giving, you can make charity donations directly from your gross salary, before tax – so they cost less, and the taxman makes up the difference!

A £10 donation to The Stroke Association each month would only cost £8, and would only cost £6 for a higher-rate tax payer. Many employers also choose to match the amounts contributed by their staff, so that their donations are worth even more.

In 2008/09, UK charities raised over £116 million through payroll giving, and over 10,000 employers are already taking part.

Setting up a payroll giving scheme in your organisation is straightforward and free of charge.

You will simply need to sign up with an approved Payroll Giving Agency, who will process your employee’s donations and distribute the money to the chosen charities.

To find out how you can encourage your company to set up a payroll giving scheme and start donating, contact our Corporate Fundraising team on 020 7566 1520 or email Jess Phillips.
