Fundraiser of the Month - September 2010
01 September 2010
Please join us in congratulating Diane Rixon, our September Fundraiser of the Month.
Diane was driven to fundraising for The Stroke Association after losing her Mum to a stroke last year. Her Father is a stroke survivor.
So far, Diane has raised a staggering £3,000 for The Stroke Association. Her husband very generously donated his 25 year long-service payment of £500 to her grand total as he was so impressed by all of her hard work!
Diane raised this money by planning a fundraising ceilidh in her local community in Fallin in Stirlingshire. The event was a huge success and they even ran out of room in the hall on the night of the ceilidh!
Although she lives in a very small community, Diane was able to create a huge level of support for her event. She also secured hundreds of pounds worth of raffle prizes.
Diane plans to continue supporting The Stroke Association with future events. She is also planning to get local children involved by organising a bag pack at her local supermarket.
We would like to thank Diane for all her commitment and support and present her with a Certificate of Achievement.
Diane was nominated by the Scotland Fundraising Team.
