The Stroke Association held their first ever collection at The Madejski Stadium, home of Reading Football Club, on Saturday 27 March and collected over £600.

Collectors included volunteers, staff and stroke survivors from the Wokingham and Reading Communication Support Groups as well as three young helpers who did a fantastic job.

The weather looked threatening but thankfully the rain managed to hold off until kick-off and it was an enjoyable afternoon for those involved.

Olivia Thomlinson, Regional Fundraiser for the south east said “It is fantastic to have the opportunity to raise awareness of The Stroke Association and collect a fantastic amount of money at a prominent stadium such as this.”

A huge thank you must go to Reading FC for allowing us to hold the collection at their stadium and all our volunteers and staff and who came along to help on the day.

Hopefully this will be the first of many successful collections at Madejski Stadium!
