Stroke Association make co-operative shortlist
29 October 2007
The Stroke Association is one of five charities to reach the shortlist for Midlands Co-operative’s Charity of the Year for 2008 and 2009.
Most of the Co-op supermarkets, convenience stores, department stores, travel agencies, funeral homes and car dealerships in the Midlands are part of Midlands Co-operative. Every year their employees work really hard to raise as much money as they can for their Charity of the Year.
Now, for the first time ever they are choosing to support the same charity for two years in a row, and they aim to raise half a million pounds.
This could make a massive difference to The Stroke Association in the Midlands. It will allow us to develop even more services for stroke survivors and their families, and help us raise even more awareness and prevent more strokes.
The staff at Midlands Co-op will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite charity throughout November. The competition is tough but we hope that staff will see that a vote for us really will help The Stroke Association save and change lives in the Midlands.
