Stroll for Stroke Cannon Hill

Just to let you know what happened on 17 May at Cannon Hill Park – Stroll for Stroke!

You may remember, it was a dark and stormy day and we were in full anticipation of a ‘no-show’.  However, our intrepid supporters turned up and walked their pledged amount of steps along the soggy paths of Cannon Hill Park.

Some were joined by their carers, some by family and friends, and some by their dogs – all got a good soaking!

This is the first, of what we hope will become an annual event. We had 20 participants and they managed to raise a staggering £2500.00 for us.

Special mentions should go to the following:

Lorraine King, for promoting this event so well at her Communication Group – we had 4 members attend from there.

James Fieldsend – a participant from Oswestry.  Not only did he, his carer, his godmother (and her dog) and his family make the journey down in horrendous conditions, James hasn’t walked for 15 years and he has been in training to do 1000 steps – he did it  and raised over £800. Thank you to everyone who helped to make this event happen and here’s to the future growth and success of Stroll for Stroke.
