The Tyneside Bike Ride races ahead

31 July 2009

The Stroke Association's second Tyneside Bike Ride took place on Sunday 26 July 2009.

Organised by Peter Collins and Janet Price from our North East Regional Fundraising Team, this really was a day to remember.

We were joined by over 120 riders who raised funds for The Stroke Association by either riding 5 miles or taking on our 23 mile circular route.

The start point at Tynemouth Priory was picturesque and quite breathtaking.

Over £10,000 has been raised for The Stroke Association which is a fantastic effort.

A marquee was organised and we had live music from a local steel drum band which created a vibrant and exciting atmosphere.

All participants were given a limited edition t-shirt specially designed for the event, a medal, certificate and a free barbecue lunch. Everyone had a fantastic and memorable experience.

We are looking to hold this event same time next year, bigger and better and I look forward to seeing you all there.
