Stroke rehabilitation
Stroke is the single most common cause of severe disability in the UK. Around 20,000 people in the East Midlands are living with the effects of stroke.
Stroke clubs are a good way for people who have had a stroke and their families to socialise, build up confidence and talk to other people who have had similar experiences.
There are over 40 stroke clubs in the East Midlands. Find out more about them
In some parts of the country
our Communication Support Coordinators and trained volunteers work with people who have had a stroke and their families on aspects of communication. The aim is to build up confidence and achieve the best possible level of recovery and independence in language skills.
