Stroke Rehabilitation

The Communication Support Service works with people who have communication difficulties following a stroke. The Communication Support Co-ordinators and trained volunteers work with people and their families on aspects of communication.

A Dysphasia Support groupCommunication Support is free to individuals and their families as it is paid for by local health authorities or social services.

Unfortunately, not all authorities pay for the service so it is only available in certain areas.

Stroke clubs

 A support group

Stroke clubs provide a meeting place for people who have had a stroke and their carers, if they want to come. The group meetings give members a chance to share experiences with people who understand what they are going through and to take part in activities that can help with their ongoing recovery.
