Volunteering in the East of England

There are many volunteering opportunities in the East of England and we would like to hear from anyone who wants to find out more.

Some of the roles that we are looking to recruit to are Administrative and Office volunteers, Information and Stroke Awareness Presentation volunteers, Rehabilitation and Support volunteers and Fundraising volunteers. For more information please contact our Regional Centre on 01284 760006 or email EastAnglia@stroke.org.uk

We have also started a network of The Stroke Association voluntary stroke groups in the region. Currently these groups operate in Colchester, Felixstowe, Stowmarket, Ipswich, Attleborough, Maldon and Halstead and new volunteers are always welcome.

We are hoping to start new groups in the Halesworth/Beccles area, Gt Yarmouth and Waveney area and Eye, Suffolk and need people who would like to form part of the committee, especially a chairperson, secretary and treasurer, and also volunteers who would like to help in the group setting.

If you feel you can help out please email Wendy Jephcote or contact her through our Regional Office.

Our Fundraising team organise many events throughout the East of England where participants and helpers are always needed. Can you get involved? If you feel that you can plaease email Tim Edwards or Tam Marshall or contact them on 01284 749 650/01284 760 006.

Help us raise awareness of stroke and the work of The Stroke Association by telling others about your experience of stroke. Media volunteers are people who have had a stroke, and their families and friends. Find out more about becoming a media volunteer for the East of England by emailing Andrea Lane.
