The Younger Stroke Page

‘A quarter of all strokes occur in people of working age.’ - National Audit Office

Image of Nicola HarkinThe Stroke Association is the only UK wide charity solely concerned with combating stroke in people of all ages.

We recognise that strokes can often bring about specific challenges and concerns for younger stroke survivors, their families and carers.

Many of those affected will have careers and families to support, and the priorities for them may be getting back to work: for financial reasons, self esteem, to rebuild confidence and regain independence.

This section is designed for people of working age who have been affected by stroke. You will find useful advice and information, news from around the region and learn about recent developments in regional and national stroke services.

We hope you find it informative, interesting and entertaining.

We want the section to grow and evolve, but we need your help.

What would you like to see in this section? Do you have news of services, support groups or facilities in your area that would benefit younger stroke survivors? Do you have a story to tell, an interesting idea or article perhaps, or a photo to share?

If so, we'd love to hear from you - please send your contribution by email to Mark Gowers or you can telephone Mark for further information on 02380 720423.

*Please note: if  you submit photos of other people, please make sure they are happy to have their image published on our website.
