Bristol half marathon - 5 September 2010

Bristol Half Marathon

Do you want to run a sponsored half marathon for stroke?

8,500 people take part each year, making it one of the biggest half marathons in the country.

The Bristol half marathon will start and finish in Bristol’s historic Harbourside. Its scenic, sea-level route will take runners around the old city, past the Harbourside, out and back along the Portway, through the stunning Avon Gorge, and twice under Brunel’s famous Clifton Suspension Bridge.

Castle 2 Castle Challenge 2010 - 19 September 2010

Berkeley Castle

Join up to 300 cyclists on Sunday 19 September 2010 on The Stroke Association's second Castle 2 Castle cycle challenge from Berkeley Castle to Chepstow Castle or vice versa on a route that takes you over the famous old Severn Bridge.

The Big Fun Run

Why not join others at the Big Fun Run 5K at the Cheltenham Racecourse on Sunday 3 October 2010. Run for The Stroke Association and contact the charity for your Official Charity Entry discount and 2 for 1 free entry coupon, and to find out how to register for the event. All the charity then asks is that your raise £50 or more.

Sip for Stroke in Spring - Spring 2010

Sip for stroke in Spring

Join The Stroke Association in the South West and 'Sip for Stroke in Spring'.

All you need to do is organise a coffee morning or tea party, however big or small in your community, school, home or place of work and raise money for The Stroke Association by charging for hot or cold drinks, holding a bring and buy sale, selling cakes or organising a raffle.

We can provide posters, invitations and leaflets to help publicise your event and make it more successful.

Skydive for stroke

Skydiving

The Stroke Association is looking for adventurous people from the South West to do a fundraising skydive. The skydives normally take place at:

  • Dunkerswell Aerodrome near Honiton, Devon
  • Cornwall Airfield near Perranporth, Cornwall
  • Salisbury and Swindon Airfields, Wiltshire
  • Cirencester Airfield, Gloucestershire.

Thrill seekers will each complete a 'Tandem Skydive' from 10,000 feet whilst strapped to a professional instructor.

No experience is necessary as full training will be provided, and if you raise the minimum sponsorship you will make your jump for free.

Joint fundraising with stroke clubs
The Stroke Association would like to forge closer links with affiliated stroke clubs through joint fundraising initiatives. If any club is interested in joining The Stroke Association to raise funds more information is available from John Williams or Chris Welch
