Volunteering opportunities in the West Midlands
Fundraising volunteers needed
We are now recruiting Collection Volunteers to join us at the Challenge Stroke RAG collection in Birmingham on Saturday 10 March. If you are a student or recent graduate, then The Stroke Association needs you! Email rag@stroke.org.uk or call Robbie on 020 7566 1512 to find out more.
Event volunteers
We are looking for people to help us run registration desks, serve refreshments, marshal participants or traffic and count sponsorship money. We also need help with marketing our events through poster campaigns and leaflet distribution.
Collection volunteers
We hold a number of collections each year at supermarkets, shopping centres, football grounds and other venues in the West Midlands, and we rely on the support of volunteers to help us do this. Could you spare a few hours a couple of times a year at one of these venues?
Static box volunteers
To help us raise funds to support people affected by stroke, we are launching a new range of collection boxes which will be placed in local shops, pubs and garages around the West Midlands. We are currently recruiting a team of volunteers to place these boxes in a number of locations and empty them 3–4 times a year. If you can commit to a couple of hours work on a regular basis, have good numeracy skills and enjoy getting out and about in your local community then this may be the volunteering opportunity for you.
Income Liaison Officers
We receive many donations in memory of a loved one. Through our relationships with local funeral directors we are able to ensure that anyone who wishes to donate to The Stroke Association is able to do so conveniently and in a manner that suits them. We are looking for six Income Liaison Officers to work within their own county, visiting Funeral Directors and supplying them with our leaflets, donation envelopes and other materials. This is an interesting and varied role that can fit in and around other work or volunteering commitments.
In return The Stroke Association will offer you full training, ongoing support and out of pocket expenses. For more information about this work, or for an informal chat about any of our fundraising volunteering opportunities, please email Robert Jinks or telephone 01527 903 505.
