A national survey recently found that 22 of the 25 Local Authorities in the North East had a significantly higher percentage of adult binge drinkers than the England average. The three exceptions were Castle Morpeth, Alnwick and Berwick-upon-Tweed (Information provided courtesy of the Association of Public Health Observatories and the Department of Health).
