Awarenessmatters aims to raise awareness of stroke and aphasia in Northern Ireland through training, education and information.
‘Living with Aphasia’ Training Course
The ‘Living with Aphasia’ course is a ten session course which aims to explore the impacts of stroke and aphasia on the individuals, their carers and families.
‘You and Aphasia’ Training Course
The ‘You and Aphasia’ course is delivered over three sessions and aims to promote awareness and understanding of stroke and aphasia to stroke survivors/people living with aphasia and their carers.
Communication Training Course
Communication training is offered to staff who work for healthcare providers in the statutory and voluntary sectors. The communication training is intended to develop the communication skills of staff who provide services to stroke survivors and people living with aphasia.

The Stroke Association Northern Ireland Helpline provides local information and support to stroke survivors and people living with aphasia between 9am – 5pm, Monday – Friday on 028 9050 8020 or by emailing The Stroke Association NI.
The National Stroke Helpline provides information on stroke to the general public and is open between 9am – 5pm Monday - Friday on 0845 3033 100.
