Volunteering opportunities in Scotland

Fundraising volunteers
We are looking for people to help us to co-ordinate correspondence with event participants, attend events, run registration desks and/or help with exhibition stalls.

Policy and research volunteers
The Stroke Association wishes to recruit volunteers to help gather information on and keep abreast of research and policy developments related to health, social care, housing and welfare issues.

Information volunteers
Information volunteers help us to raise awareness of stroke and our work both nationally and locally. An information volunteer will support us with our campaigns through giving talks, distributing information, attending and giving talks at meetings, events and conferences. Some of our campaigns include awareness campaigns such as 'Know Your Blood Pressure' and 'FAST'.

Media volunteers
These are volunteers who allow us to promote their experience of stroke to the media, for example in appeals, or as a case study for newspaper articles. These volunteers might also work directly with the media to tell their own story. Media volunteers are often stroke survivors, carers, or volunteers who are planning to take part in activities to raise awareness or funds.

Administration Volunteers
We are looking for office administration volunteers to help out with general administration work including database entry, mailings, filing, photocopying and internet research.
