After a stroke
Every year over 130,000 people in the UK have a stroke. That's one person every three minutes. Most people affected are over 65 years but around 1,000 people under 30 have a stroke each year.
A stroke is the third most common cause of death in the UK. It is also the single most common cause of severe disability. More than 250,000 people in the UK live with disabilities caused by a stroke.
