Fundraising in the South West
We raise vital funds to help people affected by stroke by organising fundraising events. This page contains details of fundraising events and opportunities in the South West.
Castle Coombe racing day
Ever wanted to drive on a race track rather than just watching racing on television? Now is your chance with The Stroke Association's annual event at Castle Coombe racing circuit.
Join us on Saturday 25 October for the exhilarating opportunity of being driven around the circuit by experienced rally drivers in some very interesting cars. The circuit is near Chippenham, Wiltshire, and it is easily accessible from either Junction 17 or 18 of the M4. This event has now been going for 12 years and many participants from previous years have described it as an experience of a lifetime and one not to be missed.

Skydive for stroke
The Stroke Association is looking for adventurous people from the South West to do a fundraising skydive. The skydives normally take place at the Dunkerswell Aerodrome near Honiton. Thrill seekers will each complete a 'Tandem Skydive' from 10,000 feet whilst strapped to a professional instructor.
No experience is necessary as full training will be provided, and if you raise the minimum sponsorship you will make your jump for free.
So if you like the idea of making an exhilerating skydive from 10,00 feet contact John Williams on 01392 447363 or Chris Welch on 0117 953 1200 for a full information pack and everything you will need to take part in the experience of a lifetime.
Nationwide Bath Half Marathon
The Stroke Association is looking for people to run in the Nationwide Bath Half Marathon on Sunday 16th March 2009. It is a flat course stradling both sides of he River Avon avoiding the hills surrounding the city.
The Nationwide Bath Half Marathon has expanded into one of the most popular and longest established mass participation running events in the UK and is used by many as a warm up to the London Marathon. The course has a dramatic start and finish on the stunning Georgian boulevard, Great Pulteney Street. Its route follows the sides of the River Avon as it winds through this beautiful and historic city offering the potential for fast times and personal bests.
The Stroke Association has a limited number of Gold Bond Places available for which we ask runners to raise a minimum of £175.00 in sponsorship. For more information please contact Chris Welch on 0117 953 1200 or email chris.welch@stroke.org.uk
