Stroke Support Groups
Stroke Clubs are local groups for those affected by stroke, including stroke survivors and carers. They aim to provide a regular meeting place for people to come together and share their experiences as well as opportunities to take part in a programme of activities.
Clubs meet in a variety of different places but aim to provide parking facilities, to be wheelchair accessible and to have space for activities. Refreshments are always available.
Stroke Clubs are run by groups of volunteers and are self financing. There are over 500 groups across the UK. Most are independent, some chosing to affiliate to The Stroke Association.
A growing number are Stroke Association Support Groups run under the umbrella of The Stroke Association. We recognise the important role of all Stroke Clubs and the vital work they do in their local communities.
We work to support them through a variety of initiatives including the UK Stroke Club Conference, regional networking days and our Partnership in Fundraising scheme.
