Partnership in Fundraising

The Stroke Association and stroke clubs both work to help and support people affected by stroke. As well as by providing support through our regional offices and the Affiliation Scheme The Stroke Associaton also offers help and advice to stroke clubs on fundraising.

The Partnership in Fundraising initiative has been developed to recognise that by working together, sharing ideas, knowledge and expertise of fundraising, we can do more to help those affected by stroke.

We have a network of regional fundraisers who are able to work with stroke clubs to organise fundraising activities and events, with the advantage of being able to share the work involved and the money raised, which is divided equally. Read about some of the ways that the Association and stroke clubs have been working together below.

Static collection boxes
Volunteers from The C.R.I.S.P. Club in Cardiff and Durham Stroke Club are placing static collection boxes, provided by The Stroke Association, in local shops and businesses. The volunteers collect the boxes when they are full, count and bank the money, keeping half for their group.

Street collections
To mark European Stroke Prevention Day, stroke clubs across the country are joining The Stroke Association to raise funds for stroke. Some of the groups taking part include Prestatyn and Holyhead Stroke Clubs in Wales, and Macclesfield Young Stroke Society.

Special events
Lewisham Stroke Club recently joined a Jail 'n' Bail event held at The Glades Shopping Centre in Bromley. While the event was taking place, volunteers from the group joined the street collection and were pleased to be able to boost their group funds.
