These pages contain information about local services and events in Wales, as well as contact details for our staff.
In Wales, The Stroke Association has a regional office in Cardiff and a satellite office in St Asaph. There are approximately 60 members of staff, led by Trish Hughes, General Manager for Wales. This includes our Fundraising Team and our own Public Affairs Officer. We run the following services in different areas across the country:
- Day Service
- Communication Support Service
- Family and Carer Support Service
- Community Integration Service
Lost without Words
Our Lost without Words campaign aims to raise awareness of the needs of the 250,000 – 300,000 stroke survivors in the UK who have a communication disability. Find out how you can send a quick email to your Assembly Member in Wales to highlight this important campaign.
Preventing a stroke
Leading a healthy lifestyle may help to prevent a stroke from happening. Health Challenge Wales provide a national focus and encourage us to work together to create a healthier nation. Prize win at Welsh Stroke Conference 2008
Our Family and Carer Support Co-ordinator for Cardiff, Siân Williams, won second prize for her poster presentation titled 'Brain = A bunch of grapes: Stroke and the link with family support' at the Welsh Stroke Conference in June.
