Helping to communicate

If some-one cannot communicate because they have aphasia there are ways their relatives and friends can help them.

It can be very frustrating for some-one if they are unable to communicate.

Everyday activities may become impossible eg: watching TV, reading a newspaper, shopping, buying a train ticket, keeping in touch with friends.

How might they feel? People with aphasia have described the experience as "being locked inside my own head", or "everything been washed from my brain" It can be frustrating and isolating because social interactions and relationships are affected. People with aphasia can feel confused, frustrated and lonely.
