Paralysis and spasticity

Paralysis of an arm or leg is a very common symptom after stroke. This may be accompanied by stiffness of the muscles - spasticity.

It is important that the stroke sufferer understands what they can do to minimise long-term disability. This section should be read in conjunction with the section on rehabilitation.
