Stroke clubs

Stroke clubs provide a meeting place for people who have had a stroke and their carers, if they want to come. The group meetings give members a chance to share experiences with people who understand what they are going through and to take part in activities that can help with their ongoing recovery.
Clubs meet in many different places, such as church halls, community centres or the local pub. Meetings are held regularly, usually every week, two weeks or month.
Stroke clubs organise outings, events and activities that help rehabilitation and increase people’s confidence.
Clubs are run by volunteers and funded by donations, subscriptions and fundraising events.

Younger stroke survivors club
Strokes are often thought to only affect older people, but every year in the UK around 1000 people under 30 have a stroke. The Stroke Association runs some support groups specifically for younger people.
