Welfare grants
Financial help can make a crucial difference at times of great difficulty and uncertainty. Our welfare grants scheme aims to improve the quality of life for people who have had a stroke and their families.
The grant is a one-off payment, usually up to £200. These grants are means-tested, taking account of the total household's income. The money can be used where it is most needed, for example to help towards:
- extra heating
- family holidays
- hospital travel
- clothing
- phone installation costs.
To apply for a grant you need to be referred to us. Ask your social worker or any health professional to contact us and we will send them the application pack.
