Action on Stroke Month 2012 - Life After Stroke

Action on Stroke Month 2012 was the first one ever, and it was a huge success in it's debut year. The month saw over 200 events taking place, with almost 400 organisations, hospitals, clubs or individuals taking part.

To see a selection of the photos we had sent in over Action on Stroke Month, have a look at our Flickr page.  Thanks to everyone who sent in pictures.

The focus of Action on Stroke Month 2012 was Life After Stroke - the campaign highlights the everyday difficulties that stroke survivors and their families face and what needs to change to ensure stroke survivors are supported to make their best possible recovery. We appealed to everyone to show their support during Action on Stroke Month by visiting an information stand, helping out at fundraising event, wearing a badge or simply signing up to support the Life After Stroke campaign.

Also, read about and download our Stroke Survivor's Declaration here. It was created in May 2012 for stroke survivors by stroke survivors, and outlines what they should expect from health and social care.

The Wellcome Trust supported Action on Stroke Month with a range of of blogs, films and features from clinicians. Visit their website for more information.
