European Stroke Prevention Day
04 May 2007
For a number of years people have argued that we should have one day a year that is dedicated to raising awareness of stroke.
Now, 10 May is European Stroke Prevention Day.
The Stroke Association is a member of the Stroke Alliance for Europe (SAFE) which represents a strong patient and carer voice that calls upon European governments to take the lead in making stroke prevention a health priority. SAFE also highlights the needs of people living with stroke and their families, to policy makers and other decision makers in Europe. Their work complements the work done by national societies, associations, charities and non government organisations.
For European Stroke Prevention Day this year, The Stroke Association will be holding a large number of fundraising collections across the country. This will not only help to raise the profile of stroke but will also help to raise vital funds for all those affected by stroke.
