The Stroke Association joins the Remember a Charity Campaign

02 July 2004

The Remember A Charity campaign is the biggest combined charitable effort ever in the UK. More than 130 UK registered charities have joined forces to change attitudes to charitable donations in wills and increase the amount of money available to charities in the future.
67% of people support charities during their lifetime but only 4.3% include a charity in their will. It is hoped that showing people how easy it is will make more people do it. About £1.1 billion is left to charities each year but the aim is to increase the number of wills including a charity by 2%. That might not sound much, but a 2% increase would result in at least £180 million more each year to the sector. And that’s £180m that we could make very good use of!
