Support The Stroke Association simply by doing your shopping

21/1/2008

The Stroke Association is pleased to announce a new way in which people can support the charity with the launch of the Charity Champions Prepaid Maestro ® card.

The Stroke Association prepaid Maestro ® card is not a credit card – it’s a pay-as-you-go way to control what you spend, whilst at the same time raising money for The Stroke Association.  The card can be used in over 10 million retailers both in the UK and abroad and each time a purchase is made 20 pence is added to the transaction total, which is then donated to The Stroke Association.

Monika Milne, Account Manager – Commercial Ventures at The Stroke Association said:

“The Stroke Association is delighted to be able to offer our supporters such an easy way of helping stroke survivors across the UK.  Each time they use the card, our supporters are donating 20 pence to The Stroke Association, which will help us to continue to work towards combating stroke in people of all ages across the UK.”

Charity Champion’s CEO, Simon Stimpson said:

“We wanted to offer charities a product that had universal benefits and functionality combined with the ability to represent the charity’s own brand and style, whilst remaining ethically responsible.  With consumer debt at its highest levels, the card enables charities to raise money consistently without promoting debt and provides the consumer with a financially responsible tool that lets them support their chosen charity and remain in control of their finances.”

The Stroke Association prepaid Maestro ® card is available in three different designs and for more information on these and the card itself please visit the 'Shop' pages of the website.
