Kirsty Shelton, age 9, won the Courage Award for the under 18's last year. Sam, Kirsty's Mum, said, "I nominated my daughter after she suffered a stroke. She lost all her speech and the use of her right side. She has never complained and has pushed herself to recover. Kirsty is amazing in my eyes and she totally deserved to win the award for showing courage after her stroke."
