Stroke - Good Practice in Primary Care

THE Stroke Association has just launched a new, updated version of its primary care resource pack, Stroke - Good Practice in Primary Care. The pack is a vital resource for all those with responsibility for organising stroke services in primary care.

The pack contains examples of innovative practices. These come from a variety of settings and describe the way their services have tackled unmet needs and achieved a better outcome for stroke patients.

Also included:-
* guidance and further information on stroke
* key policy papers
* selected research and reviews
* information to help with the implementation of the National Service Framework
for Older People stroke standard

"Primary care plays a vital role in the prevention and detection of stroke, and in the rehabilitation of people who have had a stroke," said Sheila Dane, Parliamentary Officer, The Stroke Association. "Since the National Service Framework for Older People, our aim is to ensure all those with a responsibility for organising stroke services in primary care have the knowledge they need to do a first class job of commissioning modern and effective services."
