Stroke survivor takes centre stage

11/11/2002

Sandra Fox from Stanmore will star in Mad about Gershwin, an evening of the late American composer's finest pieces, on Sunday December 8th at the New End Theatre, Hampstead. For the second year, Sandra will perform a collection of the late composer's most acclaimed pieces to help raise money for The Stroke Association.

Accompanying Sandra will be Debbie Chazen and Lynette Chazen-Hart. Together they will perform songs including; How long has this been going on?, Lady be good and Fascinating rhythm.

Five years ago Sandra suffered a stroke which took away her ability to speak, read and write. She was hospitalised for six months but with determination and willpower she managed to relearn her lost skills and now the trained actress is back on stage.

Angela Pavey, National Events Officer said: "Sandra is an amazing lady and has worked very hard in order to achieve what she loves doing. Please support Sandra and the cast of this wonderful performance of familiar favourite songs and, at the same time, help raise money to support the vital work of The Stroke Association."

Doors open at 7.30pm with tickets priced £15 (£12 concessions). To book tickets please telephone the Booking Office on 020 7794 0022
