Stroke care training programmes
A programme of education and training which is flexible in delivery, according to levels of knowledge and expertise, and includes Caring for People Affected by Stroke (CFPABS).
Caring for people affected by stroke
The benefits of our training:
- skills mapped for NVQ level 2 and 3 validation (CFPABS)
- improved staff knowledge of stroke
- reduced risk of inappropriate handling of stroke patients
- more effective use of staff time
- improved standards of stroke care.
The Stroke Association runs training courses on stroke and stroke related issues for staff in care homes and other groups of staff in the statutory health and social care sector. These courses are tailored to the needs of health and social care staff, but can also be provided to suit the needs of others.
Selected staff from the Stroke Services Training and Development Unit are trained to deliver these programmes. Suitable for care workers, social care and nursing staff, our training programmes develop participants individual stroke knowledge, understanding and skills.
The training package programmes are delivered flexibly, in-house or on open access. Nurses can use our training for 'PREP' requirements. The CFPABS programme is relevant to people pursuing NVQ level 2 or 3 in Care, or NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care Standards.
Quote on CFPABS training
`The training course was fantastic and very informative. The candidates really enjoyed the day and came away with a vast amount of knowledge. The trainer is fantastic and presented the course in a positive and enjoyable manner. I was so impressed with her knowledge and delivery, and would certainly recommend the course and trainer to other colleagues.'
