Local awareness campaigns
Raising awareness of stroke saves and transforms lives.
The Stroke Association is experienced in running campaigns on a variety of issues, from blood pressure testing days to aphasia-awareness training.
The Stroke Association works with primary care trusts and local authorities to create tailor-made promotions and campaigns.
Projects range from public information campaigns to targeted interventions around specific issues, such as diabetes.
Delivery methods include information stands, talks to local community groups, media campaigns, billboard advertising, workshops and events.
We take care of all the planning and project management, from media buying to designing posters, ensuring we deliver on time and to budget.
We are the only national charity concerned solely with combating stroke. That means we can draw on a wealth of high quality information, educational materials and artwork from other successful campaigns.
At the same time, we will adapt our materials to meet your requirements. We are sensitive to the local context and the needs of diverse communities, including disadvantaged and black and minority ethnic (BME) groups.
Outcomes
• Awareness of health promotion messages means fewer strokes
• Awareness of stroke and TIA symptoms and the FAST message means more people receive faster treatment, saving lives and reducing disability
• Members of the public have knowledge to make informed choices about their health and care
• Lifestyle changes reduce the risk from other conditions such as cancer and heart disease
• Awareness of aphasia and other stroke-related issues leads to improved care, quality of life and personal dignity for affected stroke survivors
