Stroke pathway and strategy

Aim:

To have considered the stroke journey from onset to the long term

Objectives:
 

• To review and explore in more detail what a stroke/TIA are and their causes
• To understand the anatomy and physiology of stroke in relation to the effects of stroke
• To have been introduced to the National Stroke Strategy (England) and the ideal stroke care pathway
• To understand that stroke is a medical emergency
• To have an understanding of the professionals and test/ assessments involved during the pathway
