Standards for the Stroke Services Training and Development Unit

Standard one: The Stroke Services Training and Development Unit will deal with customers needs efficiently in a polite, courteous and sensitive manner, delivering a service within a given time-frame.

To achieve this, the Training Unit team will ensure that:

  1. Customers and potential customers will have a named contact with whom to liaise
  2. Throughout their contact with us purchasers can expect a timely response and service; we aim to get back to you within five working days
  3. Following the training day purchasers will receive delegate feedback and their comments of the service sought.

Standard two:
The Training Unit will ensure that delegates are treated fairly and sensitively.

To achieve this, trainers will:

  1. Ensure non-discriminatory training practices throughout the sessions
  2. Attend sensitively to any special needs requirements
  3. Do everything possible to enable the learner to learn, within the constraints of the venue and the diversity of the audience.

Standard three:
The Training Unit will deliver training programmes that are of a quality standard, that meet the expectations of the purchaser and delegate in-line with current practice.

To achieve this, the Training Unit team will ensure that:

  1. Trainers’ knowledge of stroke and current practice and development is regularly updated
  2. Training programmes are regularly evaluated, reviewed and updated to reflect current good practice and meet the expectations of the delegates
  3. Training programmes will offer good value for money, in-line with other training organisations.
