About Research

Over the past 10 years alone, The Stroke Association has invested £21 million into research into stroke prevention, treatment, rehabilitation and long-term care.

The Research Department is based in The Stroke Association’s main office in London and works closely with scientific and service user committees to support, promote and translate stroke research. 

We have recently undertaken an evaluation of our activities and have consulted with scientists and service users to develop a new Research Strategy. Details of all of these can be found in the sections below:

The Stroke Association has carried out a review of its research activities to ensure that its research funding is effectively addressing the needs of stroke patients, and contributing to the development of knowledge in stroke care within the current climate.

Scientific and Service User Research Committees

The Stroke Association relies on service users and leaders from within the stroke research community for help and advice on many stroke research issues.
