The Stroke Association funds research into stroke prevention, stroke rehabilitation and long-term care.
This research is categorised according to the following research purposes:
Prevention
Investigating how the occurrence of stroke can be reduced
Acute Stroke Service
Exploring how hospitals diagnose and treat stroke patients immediately following stroke onset.
Community Service
Looking at how the long term care of stroke patients in the community can be improved.
Rehabilitation
Research aimed at identifying ways in which a stroke patient's independence and quality of life may be improved after stroke.
Applied Neuroscience
Research aimed at furthering the understanding of how the brain and nervous system work in relation to stroke.
