AMRC 'Best Practice' status

The Stroke Association is a member of the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC), and has recently achieved 'Best Practice' status for adhering to the AMRC's principles of peer review in medical research.

Peer review in medical research is the process by which advice is sought from expert professionals on the selection of research projects and programmes for funding. All of the professionals who review applications are experts in the specific field of medical research.

Peer review is essential in order to ensure the quality of the work being funded, and by getting advice from experts in the relevant field The Stroke Association can be sure that they are supporting the best science and scientists and targeting their resources most effectively.

As a member of the AMRC The Stroke Association is committed to ensuring that only the most effective and high quality research is supported, and that funded researchers use good practice in their working methods.
