About the service

The Stroke Association’s Jersey Information, Advice and Support is a visiting service that helps families prepare for the changes that inevitably happen because of a stroke, and help them to cope physically and emotionally.

An Information, Advice and Support Coordinator may regularly visit hospital wards, or hospital staff can refer new stroke patients. In the community GP’s, district nurses and social workers can refer families

  • Practical and emotional support
  • Access to support groups
  • Advice on how to get help from health and social services as well as voluntary organisations
  • Assistance with access to local leisure and social activities

Who the service is for

Stroke survivors of any age living on Jersey, people with communication disabilities caused by stroke, families and carers
