Ways of volunteering
There are many ways to become involved with The Stroke Association as a volunteer:
- get involved by telling others about The Stroke Association and our activities, by giving talks to schools, community groups or at relevant events, by becoming an ambassador for the Association
- get involved in The Stroke Association Rehabilitation and Support Service. Our Co-ordinators work with trained volunteers who help stroke survivors and their families by providing information, emotional support and rehabilitation
- get involved by providing information to people who have had a stroke, and their families and carers, about what The Stroke Association can do to help them
- get involved by helping our regional and local offices. Volunteers provide essential support to our employees by answering the telephone, carrying out administrative tasks, helping with accounts, and even getting involved in recruiting and managing more volunteers!
- get involved by raising funds to help prevent strokes and reduce their effects. Our Static Box volunteers place collection boxes in prime locations and ensure that all monies collected are banked in Stroke Association accounts. Contact the Fundraising Department for further details.
- get involved with our events. If you do not think that you can take part in our events then there are other ways to get involved, as you could help with the organisation, administration and refreshments.
